Re: Looks Like Native HD is the way to go

Sure, if you want to buy something that will be irrelevant in 2 years. Just don't buy any card and get a 3rd party i/o and use 10HD as 10 plus cptk. Smae functionality without wasting money on a...

Re: Does PTHD still have a Fixed 48Bit Mixer ?

This is the question. Does a 32bit floating mixer sound better than a 48bit fixed?

If so.. I will upgrade for the G and sell my current HD cards, buy a 3rd party interface and reap 99% of the HDX...

Re: Protools 10HD upgrade to from 9 is 999.99 ..... WHY

[bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep] AVID! Seriously. I am so pissed off that I they want $999 from me because I am an early adopter of PT 9HD. If I had upgraded just yesterday I would be getting 10HD for...

Re: Avid, please take the time to recall the recent Netflicks fiasco...

I own a studio In minneapolis. I will use 9hd until the wheels fall off after which Avid can suck my dick.

I will take my comments back when they stop treating their "pro" customers like chumps.

Re: Amnesty HD10 licence nowhere!!!

You are lucky. You basically got 10hd for the 9hd upgrade price ... $349?

They are [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep]ing the rest of us who upgraded early with a $999 price tag.

Re: R E A L L Y - P I S S E D - O F - A B O U T - T H E - L A C K - O F - 64bit - PT

Here is a thought. Maybe you should have checked before you paid and downloaded PT 9. It was never promised to be 64 bit. You just kind of come off looking like a jackass.

If they work.. they are just another tool. Not sure why everyone is [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep]ting on em. Why is this any different than the Crane Song Phoenix plugs, which are awesome and get a...

Re: HD Native/omni vs Apogee symphony

Let me clarify. I own HD TDM NOT Native. This was just my comparison of the Symphony Card to The HD TDM card. If the Native card performs similarly, it will sound better than the Symphony card. I...

Re: HD Native/omni vs Apogee symphony

This is my first hand experience.

I recently went from HD PCI to Apogee Symphony back to HD PCIe. I can unevoqually say (and have other trusted ears to attest) that something about the HD pcie...

Re: Who has switched from TDM to HD Native?

That is great news. The latency is my main concern.. I know that computer can handle the load.

As far as monitoring thru pro tools, it is not that bad with the symphony but i do notice it......

Re: AVID: Can Someone Comment on HDN with a 96io?

Completely un official, but it will still be way faster then a firewire interface. The PCIe bus in general is a much more stable and much faster connection. Even with slower ADA the latency will be...

Re: Who has switched from TDM to HD Native?

No it's not. The feature he, I and others are looking for does not exist... which is why some of us are a little frustrated.

Let us know how the tracking goes, especially the latency! Thanks

Re: Who has switched from TDM to HD Native?

I actually saved money going the tdm route. If i was in the market for a new system, retail... that is a different story. I got a HD2 on ebay for $4200 and plan on selling the accel card (if anyone...

I/O frustration

Anyone else getting very frustrated with the I/O, audition paths and Buses constantly resetting themselves and being generally FUBAR?

If so, chime in and let me know if you have a fix.

Re: Who has switched from TDM to HD Native?

Do you use LLM? If so, that is a big advantage to avid hardware. Otherwise... my ears are ridiculous at picking up on that. No client has complained so far, but I hear it!! It is very slight, but...

Re: Who has switched from TDM to HD Native?

I will chime in with my experience, albeit a little off topic. (don't you hate that disclaimer!)

I went from a PCI hd2 to Symphony 32 > Rosetta 800 system and am on my way BACK TO A HD1 PCIe. ...

Re: Apogee Symphony and PT 9 users

Bypassing input monitoring is not. It doesn't really matter at this point, I already have a HD card on the way. It is just frustrating that Avid AND APOGEE and other companies don't really disclose...
