Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

Interesting idea. I am in the process..FINALLY...of getting my parts list together to have a new system built and I've been looking at your specs as my model. Will any of these PCIe4's serve for...

Re: Avid CEO Jeff Rosica Announces His Retirement...

For the time being, I choose to remain cautiously optimistic that things will go in the right direction and us users will be well taken care of.

Re: The MEGA Plugin Deals Thread

This is actually a decent plugin to have on hand. Simple to use, but can create a smooth and distinct reverb. I have found it useful for adding some punch to a snare or crash cymbals on a drum mix,...

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

That's half the fun. You have to experiment with it and see what comes up. It can generate some interesting and different patterns which you can supplement with something a bit more traditional. ...

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

One fun thing to do is route different sequencers out on different MIDI channels to different VI's. Or try using the Euclidian Drum sequencer on a drum VI. You'll get some interesting results!

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

Jack, I am happy to report that the update for F3 solved all the issues. I now have the MIDI out module available with F3 in PT on an instrument track and I can call up one of the many sequence...

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

Jack, this is what I always do. With every other VI or player that has a MIDI out of any sort, I set it up this way with no issues. But of course, if I don't even have the MIDI OUT module available...

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

Okay this is getting weirder by the minute. I have the MIDI player with F3 in AAX mode, but NOT the MIDI out module. That only shows up with F3 in VST mode (standalone, or hosted in Blue Cat...

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

You're going to LOVE this, Jack. So, I can't get MIDI out to work at all with Falcon in Standalone mode. I know I have the MIDI set up correctly because I CAN get MIDI out to work with Reason in...

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

UPDATE: Well, over the past couple of days I've tried every way I can think of to get the MIDI out to work. First of all, the ONLY time I have the MIDI out function available to insert as an event...

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

Jack - Let me know what you find out. I sent a message to UVI help desk about it. In the past, they've been pretty responsive.

I still use my Motif SX8 every day in my studio...its my main MIDI...

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

Jack - Well, this is frustrating. So I added the MIDI out after a sequencer script, just as shown in the video. I used the simple step sequencer. I set up a 2nd VI on a separate instrument track...

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

Jack - Actually, it is this video from Cameron (https://youtu.be/83BBaL29d78?si=V3jF8IrO9F9zQvxU) (Venus Theory) that shows this. There's a MIDI feature you can place after any script. It's right...

As for the MIDI...

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

No. In the edit window, make sure you have the Instrument info visible. Where it says "All", you can click on that and select whatever MIDI input to that instrument you wish coming from another VI...

Re: UVI Falcon 3.0 Is Released

Could you elaborate on what you mean by this? I've never had an issue with this, but maybe I'm not doing what you're doing?

For example, I often use percussion from my East-West library. I can...

Re: Options other than Structure

Structure is truly unique in many ways, even though there are some things I wish like heck AIR would address. Very few sample based VI's make creating your owns sounds from your own samples are easy...

Re: Using LUA scripts with Falcon

As far as I've been able to discover, no one has produced a good "how to" video guide on how to do this. That would be awesome!

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

One other question I'll ask here. For things like my iLok key, or my WiFi USB device, and other dongles, can I use one of those powered USB hubs? Will that create any issues?

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

Thank you so much for the info. This helps a lot.

Thanks, Dave. Appreciate it.

Which NVME, though? Specs?

For backup, I have one of those WD My Books (10 TB).

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

Well, I've postponed this project long enough. I'm ready to have a new system built (I won't be the one doing it...I don't know anywhere near enough to do that!)

I do have a couple questions:...
