Komplete Kontrol S88 - sound from browser but not keys?

I just got an S88 and when I have Komplete Kontrol running on my Mac, the two talk to each other fine.

The puzzling thing is when I'm at the S88 using the large knob to scroll through the presets...

Re: Time machine, Backblaze affect Pro Tools performance?

Many thanks for your thoughts. Are you saying a plugin can cause problems even if it is not in, or active in, the session? i.e. just simply being in the AAX folder can cause problems? Also, is disk...

Re: Time machine, Backblaze affect Pro Tools performance?

Well, two things but one of them is probably plugin-specific. The first and main one is just the typical one where playback stops and you get 'you're running out of CPU power. Try removing plugins or...

Re: Time machine, Backblaze affect Pro Tools performance?

Thanks for your reply. I use Dropbox for personal stuff. I use File Synchronization to sync my sessions folders to several large, local backup drives. I have TimeMachine on, just because it's...

Key modifier to scroll inside MIDI track

Is there a keyboard modifier key that when pressed allows you to mousewheel scroll vertically inside a MIDI or instrument track?

It's such a PITA to use the teeny tiny arrows or click and drag...

Re: My 2018 Mac Mini vs. the e2008 Mac Pro it replaced...

I have the i7 6-core. I was running vanilla Pro Tools on my 2008 Mac Pro... no acceleration.

Maybe it's just a bad plugin. I've had tons of issues with Battery 4 and I use that in almost every...

My 2018 Mac Mini vs. the e2008 Mac Pro it replaced...

Okay. When the new Mac Mini came out at the end of 2018, I was ready to replace my 2008 Mac Pro (2x2.8GHz / 8 core). The OS was maxed out at a patched version of High Sierra and it was just time.

Re: Updated to 2020.3—now sessions open with half the plugins disabled + warning

That did the trick. Easy peasy. I just launched Waves Central, selected all my plugins and clicked "Install" at the lower right and it installed all of them.

Also, I had to go into System...

Re: Updated to 2020.3—now sessions open with half the plugins disabled + warning

Yes, any session with Waves plug-ins. I'll try re-installing all my Waves plugins. I'm not sure the Waves Central app has a re-install feature... I'll have to figure out how to do that.

Re: Updated to 2020.3—now sessions open with half the plugins disabled + warning

In this particular session it seems they are and they are all Waves plugins. My Waves plugs are all at the latest 11.0 shell.

When I try to manually re-enable a plugin it says 'the plugin could...

Updated to 2020.3—now sessions open with half the plugins disabled + warning

I recently upgraded my Pro Tools to 2020.3 and my Mac Mini to 10.15.4. My Mac Mini is a 2018 six-core i7 w/ 32GB RAM.

Sessions that previously ran totally fine are now opening with a warning...

FX propagation after stopping playback

You know when you're playing back your track and hit STOP and you get a blast of all your FX continuing as if they never got the message from headquarters? Is there a way to stop that?

I get it...

Re: PT session load time affected by what computer parts?

I'm not worried or concerned about anything really. It's just a thought experiment.

There exists an imaginary computer with an imaginary architecture that could load, for example, Hans Zimmer's...

It is a thought exercise for sure.

CMD+click solo bug?

True or False - It's possible to remove a video from a session

True or False:

It is possible to import a video into a vanilla Pro Tools session, then delete the track / remove the video and not get any dialogs the next time you open the session?

Before...

Re: Delay Compensation screws up VI timing

I'm friends with a noteable mixer in England who mixes studio films and routinely has over 250+ tracks running. Though, to be fair, probably not that many VIs. He also runs 7 HDX cards. I acknowledge...

I'm not an A list mixer but I'm friends with a few and they all use Pro Tools (for mixing).

Production is another...

If I disable delay compensation,...
