Re: Anybody running ProTools with Mac Pro 8 Core yet?

Magnetic, could you please be more specific about this info (a link would be helpful if that's allowed).

Re: Anybody running ProTools with Mac Pro 8 Core yet?

Interestingly I notice on the VSL forum some third-party technical notes about initial impressions of the 8-core. Basically it is slightly faster than a 4-core overall - sometimes degraded vs a...

Re: Anybody running ProTools with Mac Pro 8 Core yet?

I am curious to know though - IS there LIKELY to be any difference when running PT TDM on an 8-core? I mean, if PT is not coded for the benefit of the extra cores, will it not run the same as on say...

Re: HD USERS BE AFRAID - VERY AFRAID

[QUOTE]

I totally agree with this Lee. Printing-per-track an entire PT session is a huge, long-winded PITA. Probably its biggest Achilles' heal.

Re: PT 7.2 Upgrade Cost

A lot of very positive responses for 7.2...I can only hope that 7.3 is to midi folk what 7.2 is for post. It would be great to think we might see PT become king of midi as well, within a reasonable...

Re: Waves REstoration plugs disappear

This may be a coincidence, but I just installed PT7.1cs8 yesterday and Waves Morphoder and TransX are not seen by PT on load. They are where there always were in the App>Waves>Waves Plug-Ins folder....

Re: COOOOOOOOL!

I'm beginning to feel a little sorry for the web designers ...this does not seem to be getting a thumbs up mostly. I do have to agree that slanted menus have no place in a 'pro' site. It might be...

Re: COOOOOOOOL!

I gotta say I think this was a makeover in need of a budget. I quite admired the old site for being simple and fast. I concur this is full of obvious bugs. Found within a minute of having a...

Re: Kore RTAS isn\'t working well for me

As if to rub the point in, here was the gist of an email I received this morning from Vienna Library re their new VIs: "The RTAS version had to be postponed. Final release testing has shown some...

Re: OT: RME9652, V-Stack midi, and PT

Thanks guys for your feedback, looks like this is 'normal' behaviour with V-Stack. Good to know it's not just me - you obviously have no issues with the midi timing then(?), so it looks like I'm OK....

OT: RME9652, V-Stack midi, and PT

I would have posted this on Steinberg.net but can't register there as although I own V-Stack, I don't have/need a USB key for that

Anyway I know some of you have the following setup so maybe you...

Re: Kore RTAS isn\'t working well for me

I don't really get RTAS right now. Digi has the king of DSP architectures with TDM, but it is not optimised for memory intensive apps so RTAS has a natural role to play and yet so many people find...

Re: Native Instruments KORE stable?

not wishing to hijack this thread, but since Lee has brought up the recommendation of running NI stuff on PCs into PT, which is what I do as it's all far too unstable in RTAS, I am wondering why in...

Re: Who Else Thinks PT Midi is UNBEARABLE?

Well if this is partly a petition, then I add my voice to the need for a better midi workflow too.

Some sort of plug-in structure for midi manipulation would be very cool. Whilst I'm at it, can...

Re: Waves Tune vs Melodyne Bridge

Captain Crunch thanks; I take 'on board' the point about less-is-more, I'll try it with less correction.

I noticed one major thing with Tune though, and that is it can't handle tempo changes on...

Re: Waves Tune vs Melodyne Bridge

Thanks for replies. What do you think of Tune's 'sound' though? I thought it sounded a bit grainy especially on formant corrected mode, but maybe I need to tweak it more...

And do you find...

Waves Tune vs Melodyne Bridge

Just interested in current opinions on these two 'plug-ins'.

Tune is a great concept although I've had a play for an hour and am not convinced by the sound quality so far, it sounds a little...

Re: Expansion Chassis Recommendation

I use a Digi 64-Bit exp Chassis... Their newer one using ethernet cabling would probably be the best option, although it's not a straightforward improvement; as I can have 7 cards in mine whereas in...

Re: Aardsync II or Lucid GenX-6

I like the 'sound' of the Aardsync, can't comment on the other one; but compared to running internal clock on the Mix system, to me there was enough of a sonic improvement to justify buying the...

Re: Kore RTAS isn\'t working well for me

Please keep us posted on how you get on... although, NI has never really worked well on my PT rig with a couple of exceptions. NI and RTAS just don't seem on the same wavelength (so to speak). But...

Re: The L word!!

There must be a macro or something that is possible, even with TDM, to make the process more efficient than it is now.
