As already advised just get an iLok 3.., more robust and what you can actually buy now. People would not advise you to get that if it would not work.

Have you googled this error looking for your old 7.x version, things are so different on Pro Tools 11 I would be surprised if they have different fixes. Start by googling for DAE-6104 not AAE-6104.

APFS sure will work on HDD, it should provide better robustness that HFS+, better encryption (not relevant to most users here... but if you need to rely on filesystem encryption I would get on APFS...

Just be careful that the plugins you care about are moved and you know what they are and can put them back. Sometimes folks have lots of garbage in the unused folder, sometimes without realizing it.

Are you sure this is not a pan law issue somehow creeping in? Unclear what is stereo or mono here, the original signal, the aux etc. hen I see things like this I go back to pure mono tests and check....
