So I figured it out and it was really stupid.

I'm using an Amp sim plugin with slight distortion and it wouldn't affect that Wav area until I committed all plugins. Duh.

So I have a small lick in a Guitar Chug/Picked area that I wanted to make louder, so I separated it and increased the gain but it makes no audible difference. (Even at a 20db gain with giant wave)

Update. I found the quickest solution to this was to create mini (1/64th) crossfades between the live and muted clips, this worked perfectly;)

Looks like it was a glitch, after I reopened Pro Tools it worked fine. The section was seperated and wasn't locked.

BTW, do you know how to get rid of all the empty bars that show up at the end...
