Did you solve the problem? If yes, how?
Cause I see the same symptoms. It runs under PT11 on both systems.But on PT10 the option is greyed out on the slave system.

Sound_music, can you take the OS drive and the HDX card to another computer for few hours just for the test? Maybe something is wrong with your computer? display card/memory.....

What video CODEC are you using. H.264 is not recommended. one of the reasons is because of what you are seeing. Do you have Syncheck or CatchinSync (iPhone app) for an absolute offset check?

mp4 files with H264 codec are sometimes made with something called AVC coding. Quicktime will play those files, PT will not.
Quicktime pro will convert them to a white video file with audio only....

Don't install the video engine if you don't have a mojo. It will make PT launch much slower looking for the mojo hardware and not finding it.

You are not accurate. The old (tdm/rtas) Pl's folder will stay the same. It will not be called Avid. But there will be new folder for AAX PI's that will be called Avid. You don't have to uninstall...
