Re: TDM: 2nd machine for processing?

That's an expensive multi-fx unit!

Kidding aside, I see no reason this couldn't be worked out with a bit of trial and error.

Re: short story:Ordering a Pro Tools Keyboard nightmare

The fact that ordering a keyboard could be a "nightmare" seems a bit much.

I think we could all benefit from dialing back our mental noise a bit. It's just a keyboard. It's just Pro Tools....

Re: pro tools 10 issue with heat

Skills in the what? You just get Pro Tools, making you a pro, then you make beats!

Then, you get all the bitches ;)

Re: pro tools 10 issue with heat

You need to uninstall HEAT.

That's the only thing holding you up right now. You must have accidently installed it (not hard to do), and apparently it doesn't function like the other plugins where...

Re: pro tools 10 issue with heat

There should be some kind of "quit" option on the prompt that pops up. After you do that, it should ask if you want to move it to the "unused plugins folder" - which you should say yes to.

Re: pro tools 10 issue with heat

HEAT is not included with Pro Tools by default.

You have to purchase it, and you have to have HD hardware.

You can simply proceed through that prompt and enjoy using Pro Tools!

Re: Why is "PAID" Avid support so slow?

Yeehaw! Buckle up for the ride.

Hopefully, this time BIG BUSINESS stays away from our little niche in the world. As if they don't pollute and destroy our world enough everywhere else (using...

Re: What is best way to cancel the PC NOISE?

1) Record some "silence"
2) Invert phase and add to tracks as needed
3) Profit

Re: Give your plug-ins a facelift...and skin 'em!

This is cool. Being able to personalize things is great, and/or adjust for workflow. Personally, I think the ergonomics on some plugs is just terrible, so it's good to know they can be tweaked.

Re: PT 10.2 No Waveform display during record

Sounds like you might not be running PT as administrator then...

I had some weird MIDI issues after a reformat that turned out to be caused by me not starting it in administrator mode.

Re: Elastic Audio Problem

I believe that is indeed the problem I mentioned. If you mess with the phases of something, it is going to sound different. We aren't talking about complete 180* phase flips here - it's not...

Re: Elastic Audio Problem

Well, there are actual issues with EA. I have trouble using it with any stereo source (or multi-tracked source in general, i.e. drums) because it heavily alters phase relationship.

It's pretty...

Re: There oughta be a plugin...

Well, the whole GUI would have to be re-done. Certainly the audio engine can remain mostly untouched.

Re: There oughta be a plugin...

That "plugin" is called a DAW (which I think you've acknowledged in later posts).

It would literally have to be a new DAW, at least to be at the depth your implying. It would just be a visual DAW...

Re: ILOK! this is unaccetable!!

Well, it seems we agree on the major points then. I actually don't mind a unified protection scheme either, although I find it fruitless (but I guess you can't blame anyone for trying).

And Waves...

Re: ILOK! this is unaccetable!!

And?

What's your point here. Pace is still terrible as a company. Waves made the right choice (albeit, about 10 years late).

I didn't "forget" there was one "wallet" (so to speak). It just has...

Re: ILOK! this is unaccetable!!

They wasted a ton of money with Pace, that's for sure.

Piracy is going to happen. It's not preventable. It's a "when" - not an "if".

AAX is being worked on by the people that work on that...

Re: ILOK! this is unaccetable!!

Pace is a joke as a company, and iLok is a joke as a product.

Everyone used to put up with it because they thought it stopped piracy. Well, time proved that wrong, and now you see major movers...

Re: Profire 2626 routing problems

I have issues where at times, suddenly my mix will just bog down, slow down to about half-speed and sound pretty distorted. Haven't worked out what causes it, but I usually exit without saving and...

Re: Profire 2626 routing problems

Also, yes, I've lost a few days to Pro Tools problems recently. Went in super inspired to do some work, came out hours later cursing technology.

It's great, when it works.

Re: Profire 2626 routing problems

Perhaps you set it to receive from ADAT when you want it to receive from the analogs?

I'm just trying to throw out every idea I can think of.

You could always uninstall the drivers and wipe the...

Re: Profire 2626 routing problems

Hmm, well, you should be fine then.

Do you have any other DAW you can test it out with? If you don't, maybe download a trial of Reaper and see if you can get it working with that?

If it does...

Re: Profire 2626 routing problems

My next step would then be to open the I/O setup in Pro Tools, go to your input tab, delete all the inputs you see there, and then click the default button near the bottom left. This will assign...
