Re: LaCie Firewire nightmare

I currently use 3 LaCie firewire ext. drives. 1 just for storage and 2 for video. No issues to report. However I have not used them for audio recording. I agree that any "clicking" noises are bad....

Re: Nvidia twin display on their Mac anyone?

DB,
Alas, no. I have since found out from the Manufacture (Nvidia) that the dual monitor, extended desktop feature will work only if you combine a regular monitor with an "Apple" monitor. Curiously...

Re: Nvidia twin display on their Mac anyone?

That's easy, price. ADC or apple monitors are cool, but expensive. I already have the 2 VGA or CRT type monitors. The Nvidia site says it should work. I was wondering if anyone has tried this...

Re: Ventilation in tracking room (closet)

It will depend on 2 things; Budget & Location of Heat/AC source. You can go to the local Home Center for basic duct work to tie into your current system. Larger duct means less air noise or that...

Re: Ventilation in tracking room (closet)

That's quite a topic. Having just done a remodel on my home studio maybe I can help. What is above and surrounding on all sides of your "closet"? If access is available, running a HV/AC vent is your...

Re: PC or Mac?

The age old debate continues... I agree, get both. I've been using my Mac G4 for almost all of my recording needs (call it a personal preference), but the PC has come in handy quite a few times.
