PT 11.3 System usage increase dramatically when idle

Just installed 11.3 on a new MacBookPro 2.8 with 16 gig ram using an Apollo 16 interface. mavericks.
Loaded up the demo song that came with the download.

I"m still on PT9 and plan moving to PT10 in the next week or so. I have a break between projects and have waited for this window of opportunity to do the upgrade.

If it's a deal breaker for you then you could try Guit Rig 5-Native Instruments. I don't use it for guitars in VEP......although I hadn't thought of that so I might in future.......but I do use it...

Have you tried using O5 in Audiosuite mode? The meters don't work on my system.

So far I've noticed with VEP 5.

• Hitting spacebar in VEP5 does not start play. This is a known bug.
• Menus and sub menus disappear when held for a couple of seconds.

Chris I ran the demo of Ozone 5 Advanced on 10.6.8 with no problems.

When you do get it running please check out the meter response of O5 when using Audiosuite.

Absolutely. VEP has enabled me to lock the current system down.
I don't think about computers or software anymore. I just make music everyday.

Lots of great stuff in PT10.
The eventual demise of RTAS won't be causing any heartbreak I suspect.

But for us composer engineer types are there any improvements in VI implementation in PT10? ...

Amazing. That was the system I had........including the IIFX computer. I paid $4500 for that computer and it was second hand!

But at the moment I do the transport thing via my iPad with V Control.
I used to do it with a Shuttle Pro 2.

Ray, if you are using Teleport (so you can share a keyboard and mouse) it allows you to drag directly from the slave to the master desktop or visa versa.
Then just drag into PT.
