Unless you want a windtunnel, stick with your tower as long as you can. And unless you need either NVMe SSD support or latest PT verstion you have absolutely no reason to "upgrade" from Sierra.

Any user using PT needs to be granted Admin privileges. If it crashes it does not hurt to try re-installing on every user account. Whichever system-level prefs files are overriden are irrelevant.

Long story short: if you record, target -20dBFS and if you bounce for mastering/referwnce/whatever target -6dBFS, unless orherwise specified.

Leave the top 6dB alone unless you have...

Deliverables arw bounced, not exported. And dor a bounce, you need an ourpuft. And every ourput has a master fader, you just need to set it visible by "creating" a master fader. And there...

Actually no, Avid Account would have the latest PT12 that the license allows, and "legacy" section would provide latest PT 10/11 download which means no PT10 download

There is no such thing. PT 8.5 is a special version that came with HDN hardware bought before PT9 was released
