I've been using Sibelius and Protools together for MIDI writing.

I score it in Sibelius, export MIDI file to PT. Add virtual instruments, mix, etc....no problems.

I just wish the score editor...

Funny thing was, the track I needed to do that on was recorded on a TEAC 2488, and there was no need to correct anything - if there was any time delay it was such that it made the track sound bigger....

I've used a DI to get a clean bass signal for the lows and a condenser, 2-4 feet back, from a bass cabinet for the overdriven sound, and blended them.

Please reconsider the use of a DI in addition...

I'm not aware of any program that does all that for you! I'm a long-time Sibelius user, have experience with Finale and a few other programs, and what you want is a dream come true - play the music...

I Use Sibelius to compose scores, export the MIDI files to Pro tools and then finish production.

Part of the issue is that Pro Tools built in score editor is nowhere near as powerful as Sibelius,...

Frankly I'm not sure if Pro Tools has a rosy future or not. If it does, I'll catch up at PT 12 or 13.

Sorry to say you need to be aware of your computer, the operating system and the version of Pro Tools you use, otherwise you will have problems.

I'm running 2 slightly different versions of PT10...

Um, why buy direct? With Sweetwater you get IK support and Sweetwater support. Or am I wrong or missing something important?

It looks pretty good - lots of new instruments samples.
