Re: Upgrade to SSD drive with PT 10?

Oh. I just noticed the 4GB RAM. Thatís not great. You can do it, but 8GB or more would be ideal.

FYI - I tracked 8 channels on a 003 on a 2011 MacBook Air with 4GB RAM without breaking a sweat....

Re: Upgrade to SSD drive with PT 10?

TBH, thats not going to put a great deal of strain on your machine. If no plugins are involved, your current iMac, even without an SSD, would be able to pull that off.

The only caveat is that more...

Re: Updating Pro Tools

Not anymore. Itís $199 a year for native now.

Ha! Youíd think that price change would be burned into your mind considering the amount of moderating you would have had to endure a few months ago...

Re: Upgrade to SSD drive with PT 10?

Thatís a VERY good point.

IIRC, that model was when they switched to the i5/i7 series of CPUs, but they still had C2D models in the line.

As Darryl said, Iíd look at a slightly newer model. You...

Re: Much slower offline bounce in 2019 vs 2018?

What troubleshooting have you done so far?

Did anything else change on your setup other than upgrading from 2018 to 2019.

What version of Pro Tools exactly?

What machine are you running it...

Re: parallel master daw and tape

There will ALWAYS be some sort of chorusing effect. Wether you hear it as that or something else, what youíre describing is pretty much that.

Youíre trying to sync a digital file with a source...

Re: Multiband dynamic split outs phase with original

Is delay compensation on?

Also, some plugins have been known to have the incorrect latency reporting to the host. This could also cause the issue. It could be something entirely different, but...

Re: Bounce direct to SoundCloud as MP3

Yes you can.

Uncheck the mp3 check box and then when you click on the format drop down box, youíll see wav, aiff etc. and mp3 will be in there.

If you desire, bouncing that way will only render...

Re: New to PT Native Hardware

Yeah thatís what it must be.

I think youíre right. The current AVID branded products donít have the registration issues for software.

Re: Bounce direct to SoundCloud as MP3

Yeah you could from memory.

Not really that much more time consuming bouncing and then uploading the file.

Re: New to PT Native Hardware

I was told that too re: TOO, but I registered my second unit and got the software straight away without issues.

It could be that the person I bought it off never registered the unit, but then how...

Re: Clicking "Add MP3" adds ~1min of silence to the end of the file

This has come up a fair few time on the DUC. Fairly recently as well IIRC.

I canít remember if it was a bug or an incorrect setting, but if you search the forum youíll find a few threads...

Re: Language issue on my.avid

Well, I met a few Americans whilst over there that had trouble with my accent, which for someone that was born and raised in Aus, is VERY mild.

Perhaps they think we speak German here? =P

Re: Language issue on my.avid

Yep. I was getting that a couple of months ago as well. IIRC correctly, it was German.

From memory, I tried a different browser and that worked. Dunno why it did it though.

Re: Elastic Audio and Trashing Prefs

Yep.

IMHO, if you remove the analysis markers that arenít on the consonants or start of transients, Polyphonic sounds better than X-Form. You donít get the smearing artefacts.

My way of working...

Re: wireless keyboard with pro-tools on mac

Depends on your computer.

I had nothing but problems with BT keyboard. Had to go back to wired.

I even bought an ext. BT dongle and ran an ext. cable so it was away from the computer. Worked...

Re: Gliding from one note to another?

You donít mention what instrument youíre using, so itís kind of hard to tell you how to do it.

But what you should be searching for in the manual of your instrument is portamento or glide.

Re: Heat + Complete Plugin Bundle for all subscribers

If you rent PT, youíll receive it shortly.

If you have a perpetual license that you pay a yearly renewal on, you wonít get it.

Re: Aux/bus input "doubles" my tracks! Need help

PT8 didnít have ADC. That was introduced in PT9.

I agree, it sounds as though you may have been nudging or time adjusting things on your old sessions to combat the lack of ADC. Now that youíre on...

Re: Why doesn't ProTools have its own built-in sample player?

Itís been a part of Pro Tools for a long time. AVID used to own AIR. Structure was only available in PT originally until they sold the company.

The free included version can do what you want it...

Aux channels - still hearing the input tracks?

Who said to use sends?

Regardless, the choice is yours. But normally, youíd route the outputs of your channels to a buss for a global effect such as compression or to control the whole submix...

Re: Aux channels - still hearing the input tracks?

The better way would be to route the output of the channel to the buss, rather than via sends.

But if thereís a reason you need to do it this way, make the sends pre fader and mute the tracks.

Re: Mac Pro 2012 -should upgrade to Mojave?

Yep. Runs fine on Sierra.

OS upgrades, IMHO, are the LAST thing you want to do unless thereís a specific reason.
