Re: S1 Feature Request: Ability to use rec/a button to enable TRIM MODE

Thanks Eddie, this would be great!

To the above poster, thanks for the tip... though I'm guessing as it puts everything into trim mode it'll also take everything OUT of trim mode when you hit it...

Re: S1 Feature Request: Ability to use rec/a button to enable TRIM MODE

Glad it's not just me who'd find it very useful.

Yeah I can currently make it a 2-button thing, if I surrender one of the user buttons at the bottom (pressing one hand on the touch screen and...

S1 Feature Request: Ability to use rec/a button to enable TRIM MODE

Coming from a DCommand one of the best things about it was each channel has a dedicated trim button, I work in trim mode far more than any other automation mode (from a surface at least) due to...

Re: Avid S1 LED brightness differences

I have an S1 here I'm testing out. I have this issue on channels 2,5 and 7. The green AND red LEDS there next to the rec/A button are about half as bright as the other channels. In my case I can see...

Re: Avid S1 Powering Up/Down

I use remote plugs to turn on tons of my studio gear with hard to reach switches. Unless they are soft switches (i.E digital control) then it's absolutely ZERO difference between turning it off at...

Re: fader automation stops during pass

Was there ever a confirmed serial number cut off point for when the 'bad chip' hardware stopped? Especially buying used S1s this info would be helpful.

Same for the ghost encoder issue (is that a...

Re: Detach midi editor

The 'real' answer is to just make sure the edit pane (split) isn't selected as a target (Red square top right like plug-ins).

Likewise, if you WANT the lower edit pane back and have it focus on...

Re: How do I get the midi editor to open in a separate window?

You can set PT 12+ up to enable you to select a midi clip (showing as CLIPS not notes) and pressing "E" (with autofocus on) will enlarge that track to window height, zoom into the midi and change to...

Re: MIDI notes out of sync caused by Delay Compensation?

Do you guys have any luck if you go into prefs/midi tab and ensure 'global midi playback offset -10,000 to 10,000) is set to zero (0)?

I was having similar issues with Superior Drummer 3 commits,...

Re: How do people survive with 96 voices at 88.2k?

While recording at 88.2/96 offers little benefit, plug-ins running at higher sample rates can often work (sound) a LOT better, esp if you have mix bus heavy plug usage.

Dan Lavry theorised the...

Re: Where can I download the Avid Link App for iPhone 10 ?

But there's a video playing (before streaming) like a placeholder, with people talking, playing lutes (or some such), surely that would indicate there should be sound? Someone posted that on the iOS...

Re: Ryzen 32 core

Forget AMD for PT and most DAWs (and lots of other non multicore specific software - so unless you're doing heavy video/3D rendering).

Get an intel 8700k and overclock it 4.8-5ghz all cores on air...

Re: 911! Anyone know the power supply for D Command?

Always check capacitors on PSUs (virtually 'free' if you can solder) before buying whole new PSUs.

Easy to check, easy to change and in 8/10 cases it'll be a cap that's gone bad or is going bad.

Re: Where can i buy a Power Supply for my D-Command ?

Before spending on PSUs, check the capacitors (usually these fail first on PSUs) you could feasibly end up replacing them (soldering in new ones) for mere pennies vs the hundreds for the PSU.

Re: Just bough an Ultrawide Monitor - WOW

16:10 (1920x1200) beats 1080p hands down. I can't abide 1080p screens near PCs. It feels like the bottom of my world is chopped off (for no reason other than laziness to tie in with the TV industry)....

Re: Pro Tools 12 vs Studio One 3 vs Logic Pro X

Exactly.

S1 and others are not handling audio anything like as robustly as PT does. As I mentioned in my essay above, if PT stops recording it's for a good reason usually. In S1 it'll record...

Re: Pro Tools 12 vs Studio One 3 vs Logic Pro X

I've used both Studio One (V2 and V3 and tried V4) and PT (various but mostly 12 HD which I love) extensively.

Pro Tools is still beautiful to work with, all things considered, because where it...
