Re: mbox 2 with ableton live?

I've tried that. Hmm, I don't know what about my laptop could be the problem. It's not like I need the specs required to run PT, right? I'm just trying to use the interface with ableton, which works...

Re: mbox 2 with ableton live?

I can't get ableton to recognize my mbox2. I continuously get Faled to open the audio device "ASIO Digdesign Driver Mbox2" no matter what drivers I install. Anyone have any suggestions?

mbox 2 with ableton live?

Hey. I have ableton live 8.04 and was wondering if there was a way to use my mbox 2 without having pro tools installed on my computer. Thanks.

"E:" cannot be designated as an Audio Record volume because it is formatted as a Fat Volume.

Can someone help me out? I just connected it right out of the box.

Re: People using USB for external HDD

So....is that a big problem? Or is it like one of the many things that aren't supported but still work fine?

Re: People using USB for external HDD

Oh I wasn't singling out a certain drive on that page. I was just wondering if any one of those would work. I currently have 286 free GB on my laptop.

Re: People using USB for external HDD

I'm gathering my sandra report at the moment. In the meantime, would I be better off getting one of these? Firewire just isn't going to work for obvious reasons.

Re: People using USB for external HDD

Can you tell me how to do that? Just in advance, I'm pretty sure there's nothing I can do. No card slot. No firewire. It seems like a lost cause.

People using USB for external HDD

I'm just going to go for it because I literally have no other options. Any of you doing this having success? How many tracks can you use in a session and how is mixing going for you?

Re: Another h/w buffer 6086 error question

Hey sw rec, do you know why USB causes problems? I've read that USB 2.0 is faster than firewire.

Re: Another h/w buffer 6086 error question

I'm out of options for a second HDD. I finally got through to someone at Gateway and the dude had no idea what I was talking about. He offered to put me through to a technician for a $60 charge. I...

Re: Second HDD help (no firewire)

Good to hear. If Gateway can't provide me with an internal HDD, I'm going to have to go with USB. What external HDD are you using btw?

Re: Second HDD help (no firewire)

Thanks. And by "doesn't work", do you mean it straight up won't do anything and I'll get buffer errors just as frequently as I am now, or will it give me some leeway? I guess there's no way for you...

Re: Second HDD help (no firewire)

Re: Second HDD help (no firewire)

I guess I could. Does that take up your DVD bay for good and do I have to have a certain one? That sounds tricky.

Second HDD help (no firewire)

Just bought this laptop about a month ago. It doesn't have a firewire port nor does it have a card slot that will take a firewire card. How in the hell can I use a second drive for recording?

Re: H/W Buffer Size error

Doesn't have e-sate either :(
I guess I could get a second internal. I didn't even know you could do that haha. What would that entail, if you don't mind me asking?
