Here is everything I know on this chipset problem.
The Intel 925X chipset, which is installed in all new Dell Dimension 8400 computers has an inherent problem supplying enough current to the USB...

Wow, I finally found someone else with this problem.
All the same issues. Using the Mbox with a Dimension 8400, 3.3Ghz, 1Gig RAM, 160G+160G hard drives.
