Jeff,

Thanks for your advice but the problem has fixed itself--unable to get it to repeat.

Re: unable to pan via chan. strip encoders

Not sure about the other encoders on that module--I'll test later--but I know that the same encoder (bottom knob of the knob module) on other channel strips are behaving in the same manner.

Re: unable to pan via chan. strip encoders

Thanks Jeff,

Note that this behavior only happens with that particular encoder, not with the joysticks, or the master module encoders. Yes, I did restart the entire system. Here are the specs: ...

unable to pan via chan. strip encoders

The encoders for panning parameters are not working on the channel strips. The panning acts as if one is holding down the OPTION key--the panning jumps to the default position as soon as you move...

Re: D Command--no signal to phones

Thanks Steff. Since I do hear some very low level audio coming from the headphone output, I don't think the headphone amp is dead. It seem more like the internal switching that connects the various...

D Command--no signal to phones

I've been using a D-Command for several years. Suddenly I can't get any signal out of the headphone jack. Ordinarily, in the monitor/cues section of the console, I select Phones, choose Main as the...

Re: Volume automation dead on one track only

Thanks for the help. Turns out the tracks in the edit window have to be in medium size before the control-command click works on the automation selector button (PT 6.4.1). Not sure I would ever...

Volume automation dead on one track only

I've encountered this once years ago and forgot what the solution was...suddenly one track acts as if I've disabled volume automation, although I have not. I can draw volume graphs, but they have no...

Re: during record, signal will not exceed -4dBFS

Problem solved...the I/O's were set to -10 on input, +4 for their outputs. I honestly do know how to calibrate a recording device. (I came of age in the days of 2" 24 tracks. Oy!) But I was...

Re: during record, signal will not exceed -4dBFS

Thanks for the quick reply. The clipping definitely seems to be occurring at the input to the 888/24. I discovered the problem after trasferring some stems directly from a DA98. Just to be sure it...

during record, signal will not exceed -4dBFS

Just started a job at a new studio. Using an 888/24 and PT v.5.1.3, when recording a signal using any analog input, the signal is being clipped (or limited) prematurely, not coming anywhere close to...

Having same exact problem here. Earlier version of LE crashed on occasion so I upgraded to 6.4 to go with my Panther version 10.3.3. 6.4 worked ok for a couple of days but today, BOOM! Am now...

Re: ICON D ? Is this the new controller?

I agree with the above suggestion of the desirability of automating buss assignments/routing. However, as to writing automation on top of existing automation, isn't that what trim/write mode does? ...

Re: Canopus sync offset different

I think there is a similar sync issue when using the Canopus with Final Cut Express. This might point to hardware as the culprit. Or perhaps it's the codec that Canopus uses. Anyone else notice...

Re: The -20 dB discussion

When you're mixing for a 5.1, 700 seat theater with a 30 foot screen and the film has a scene change cutting from empty late-night hospital corridor to close up of a car bomb exploding, you'll find...

Re: ProControl Vs DM2000????

I've just started working in a room where they installed a DM2000 to use as a HUI for ProTools. Compared to a ProControl, it's a bit sluggish (MIDI vs. Ethernet is the real issue, as you guessed). ...

I realize the MDS600M is probably way more comprehensive than the Martinsound MultiMAX/MultiVU but how do they compare in price? I'm planning/designing a new dub stage, and would...

Re: Multiple movies-why not?

Ric,

I'm sure you're probably already doing this, but I always make a PT session with just a video track, in sync, of each Quicktime movie I'll be using. Then at least it's fairly fast to change...
