Re: Apogee Trak 2 as font end for Mix System?

The Track2 has an excellent mic-pre and sounds great. To be honest, I love using the Apogee converters but I do use Neve pres on the front end (or API depending on the situation). I'm very picky...

Re: Running 192k Who? What\'s needed?

Let me be clear on this. I don't care if I'm an Apogee dealer or not. Whether or not you buy a product from me is up to you. I am in no way trying to sell anyone anything when posting information...

Re: Trak2 or Focusrite ISA 428

It is most definitely worth the price. There is no question. It's a phenomenal product. Couple it with Big Ben and you'll be loving life.

Re: Running 192k Who? What\'s needed?

Well, this is some discussion going on here. I guess I'll state some facts as well.

When doing a comparison between converters the most important thing to make sure of is calibration. To the...

Re: Mastering - Home or Studio?

The last post said it well. If your project means anything to you take it to a pro mastering engineer. There's a reason they get paid the big bucks and I can tell you that it's worth every cent....

Re: Poll: Top 5 or 10 Must Have Plug-Ins?

I thought I'd chime in as well. I love these plugs and use them frequently.

1. Waves Platinum Bundle (includes pretty much everything Waves has to offer and is well worth it)
2. Antares...

Re: Rosetta 800 & clocking

That would most definitely be my suggestion. Big Ben in unreal and will enhance the Rosetta 800 sound 10x according to Apogee (and I will emphasize that as well and put my recommendation on that...

Re: DIGIDESIGN HD + APOGEE trak2 question

Well I monitor via a different system entirely. I have a Coleman Audio M3PH switchbox and I can tell you that it was one of the best investments I ever made. I go analog out from the Apogee to...

Re: DIGIDESIGN HD + APOGEE trak2 question

Although the question has sort of been answered already, the way to bypass the 96 i/o is to go digital into ProTools. If you go analog out of the Trak2 you are converting the signal from digital to...

Re: DIGIDESIGN HD + APOGEE trak2 question

What they mean is bypassing the digi 192 or 96 interfaces and using only a digidesign digital i/o so that the digi interface is doing nothing more than playing host to take the already digital signal...

Re: is 99 degrees too hot?

Computers will run longer and more efficiently the cooler they are kept. I have an entire room set aside with a separate 10,000 BTU air conditioning system setup so that everything is kept around 60...

Re: Apogee Rosetta 800 clocking

I cannot and will not post pricing information here on the DUC as to me, that is innappropriate behavior. Nor is Apogee allowing us to post the pricing promotion on our site to the public since it's...

Re: Apogee Rosetta 800 clocking

What a great response from someone actually hearing it in the real world. This is exactly what I was trying to get across, so, thanks DigiGeek. The only way you are going to make the Rosetta 800...

Re: Apogee Rosetta 800 clocking

I'm glad we're all on the same page now. It is true that you will not hear much of a difference (if any) using a pre-recorded digital signal and then only using a clock reference. Clocking and...

I'd be very curious to see where exactly these tests came from because I can almost certainly guarantee you that what you say is not the case at all. I encourage to speak diretly with Apogee on this...

Re: Apogee Rosetta 800 clocking

The 96kHz lists for $2995 but AudioLot has a deal going on with both standalone purchases of the Rosetta 800 units (either 96kHz or 192kHz) and an amazing deal when you purchase both the Rosetta 800...

Re: Apogee Rosetta 800 clocking

There is no question that for this solution you would want both the Apogee Big Ben for clocking and clock distribution (as well as format conversion) and the Rosetta 800. However, that being said,...

Re: A/D or WORDCLOCK.....which to buy first?

While it is true that daisy chaining word clock is not the best idea, it will "work" at least at first, until you get some more money. I would suggest going with the Rosetta 800 and then when you...

Re: Rosetta or Aardvark Word Clock?

The Rosetta 800 is far and away the better choice for a better sound. Additionally you can improve on the Rosetta 800 by getting the Apogee Big Ben and clocking everything digital in your studio...
