right now here in Italy during this hot summer, my machineroom has 32 C room temp. Inside the G4 MDD867 the temp is 50 C , the digi PCI cards are 69 C

I know non military equipment has a 70 degree...

I got my powersupply and fan replacement yesterday for 19$ from apple and it made the overall noise better.

I am a bit worried about the cooling of my mix core and mix farm cards in the upper part...

in my opinion the powersupplys are so underrated and puny , they have a hard time coping with the demand put onto them ! I can tell this by just attaching 1 external FW drive and when I unmount it...

I think the rocket idea was and is fantastic , I have used it a lot ( I also worked for them:-) and in Protools it was working best. There is a difference between sending files and working together...

Ohh thank you for the message ! That is extremely interesting news ! So it seems there is an incompatibility between the NVDIA and the mix core cards ! This needs a fix ASAP !! its been 6 months...

I posted this finding a long time ago ....when the core card is not in slot 2 ( next to AGP ) the black monitor will NOT happen ....the answer ? "buy an expansion chassis....jeez !

yes it is definately a motherboard issue and as such a swap from apple is the only solution.
Being based on the Xserve mobo , it has some design flaws which make it unacceptable for desktop use !...
