No plugins are active when I try to play. funny thing is , it plays when there are no tracks loaded, as soon as you load anything from anywhere I get the message.

Did not work, I'm thinking Norton ghost might be my only way out, it cant be PT, it must be a windows thing.

No, did not put PT on the new drive, I've just exhausted all options and decided to try and re-install.

Doesn't really make any sense though, since Ive tried transferring my files to my systems drive and I get the same issue, I feel like its something else but I don't know what.

USB 2.0 Hard Drives
USB hard drives are NOT recommended or supported for use as recording drives. Limited testing has shown that performance with USB drives is inferior to that of FireWire drives.

Yeah, This is a brand new issue for me, Ive been running Pro Tools on my system for over 2 years with no trouble at all. You think 1394 external is the answer?

I upgraded from 7.4...
