In case anyone is interested....my New Mac Pro with Leopard only is running 7.4. I am not a pro user, but haven't seen any issues yet. Use with caution, but at least I can still use it.

You need a Tiger OS X disk. Put the disk and re-install. It is a pain in the you know what. I love my Macs, but hate Leopard.

Interstingly I just powered down the keyboard and turned it back on and the flashing Midi light stopped flashing and everything works.
