Had the same problem with my 002 rack on 10.5.4

Did full PT9 install, everything works fine but no MIDI.

Removed Digi drivers from MIDI Drivers.

Clear 002 device from AudioMIDI setup

ok finally figured out a workaround so ill post it here.

there seems to be some kind of grouping thats being activated but isnt showing up in any of the panels. im thinking the session might have...

Have imported a session from 5.1.

new tracks appear fine but whenever i attempt to select the imported tracks in the edit window with either the select tool or region trim the cursor stretches...
