Avid is not a product, its a professional collaboration platform.

Nothing is more important to Avid than for people to be able to learn how to use their high end products at a reasonable cost....

1. Pro Tools and Media Composer are professional media production platforms and not products. Inexpensive versions are required for adding temporary workers to meet...

I strongly suspect the vast majority of CPTK users are running 002s feeding a Mackie as their monitor mixer.

If there is a PT 11 demo, the thing to do is try it out and see if it makes a useful...

CPTK filled a need for multiple relatively low cost off-line post audio editing bays. It really has been replaced by HD Native using an Omni interface after you factor in the cost of the interface...

To me the big losses are VCA faders and the disk cache. We all did surround with no problems at all before surround features were introduced. There were also third party solutions for le users.
