Protools doesn't guess. There is a window that currently pops up that allows you to select what you want. There should be the option is what I'm saying.

I do use templates and every kind of shortcut. The thing is 99% of the time when you duplicate a track while doing music, it's not to get another duplicate of the active playlist.

Good point with an easy solution. If you're creating a new track or duplicating in between numbers, as you described, it would default to what it does now. "Audio 1" for new track and "dup.1" for...

If there is a number on a track (1, 2 or whatever) when duplicating that track PT should automatically name the new one with the next number and not the horribly long "dup.xxx" which 99% gets edited...

And lets not even go to the upgrade prices for the folks still on HD8 or 7. I'm sorry Max... a complete moron could see that by pricing an update at $2500 is not generating more income...
