Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

Well, not really. For some tasks the RMU is still necessary, even for HT. Please have a look at the above link Iīve posted.

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

With all due respect, youīre not correct. I did generate ADM BWAV master files in versions prior to 3.3 and the latest version is no exception.

Some info from Dolby:

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

You can do that with Production Suite. If youīre on MAC, that is.

Re: What brings Dolby Audio Bridge to HDX users?

Thanks Adam, the FAQ was enlightening and useful to dissipate any doubts.

Although the Production Suite with Pro Tools 2019.10 with the DAB and the 130 channels with delay comp seems (and is)...

Re: Who invented the dynamic EQ

Indeed, in fact you didnīt when you said "I'm referencing Fabfilter Pro Q3 and their multiband compressor here". Since you only named the product name of the dynamic EQ and not the compressor one, I...

Re: Who invented the dynamic EQ

I think it all depends on what you want to do and your approach. I have to say that I work mostly in post, so for music mixing or mastering, probably there will be different uses. I donīt use...

Re: Who invented the dynamic EQ

OK, Iīm not upset with anything, itīs just I donīt have too much to add to the thread (let alone the fact that I donīt know who invented dyn EQ) and then you start asking which compressors I have...

Re: Who invented the dynamic EQ

Where I come from? Look, Iīve worked with many compressors over the years, from hardware to software. The thread was about who invented dynamic EQ. I donīt have an idea about that. Along this thread...

Re: Who invented the dynamic EQ

:-) Well, I see it as the other way around. They added a compressor to the dynamic EQ module. A simple dynamic EQ doesnīt need a compressor to make it dynamic.

Compression and expansion on a...

Re: Who invented the dynamic EQ

Indeed, but itīs not a simple dynamic EQ, it has a builtin compressor as well per each of the available bands. Thatīs why they have the Ratio setting.

Re: Who invented the dynamic EQ

It doesnīt have a ratio knob, because itīs not the intended use. Itīs not supposed to be an EQ that compresses. The intended use for a dynamic EQ is to apply boost or cut on a given curve, depending...

Re: Who invented the dynamic EQ

I donīt consider a de-esser a dynamic EQ. A de-esser is a compressor driven by an EQīd side chain. Which is different. Meaning is compressing a pre determined frequency range, determined by the...

Re: What brings Dolby Audio Bridge to HDX users?

Re: What brings Dolby Audio Bridge to HDX users?

Was thinking about the same issue. If youīre using AAX DSP plugins on the session, changing the playback engine to DAB will probably switch those plugins to native, so they will run on the CPU along...

Re: How to go from Apple TV digital out to MTRX?

As I mentioned earlier to the OP, sampling rate should have been the same between both devices when using a simple SPDIF to AES converter like the Neutrik one, precisely for the reasons you mention.

Re: How to go from Apple TV digital out to MTRX?

So, how did you connected it? Can you test with a CD player SPDIF out? I mean, you said that you didnīt want to go analogue, to spare analogue ins on your MTRX, so Iīm getting confused about what you...

Re: What’s New in Pro Tools — Fall 2019

Ya, the Dolby Bridge for HDX and getting rid of the send/returns path is a good move. Wondering if latency would be solved too.
