Re: Pro Tools 2018.12 CPU Spikes

That would mean that (a) PT scans the 32-bit folder, or (b)a particular plugin's security code is checking the 32-bit folder as well and not liking something?

Re: Pro Tools 2019 !

That FG things was so long ago that I remembered only that I would never buy anything from them, but could not remember why. Until now.

Re: Pro Tools 2018.12 CPU Spikes

I do a bit of system dancing every month or so and again especially with the bigger Windows version updates in October and April. Basically some combination of the following:

Scan for and Install...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

The bx_dyn_eq is very much worth the $29 IMO. Very quick to get a single band up and going. The detection and reaction are linked or un-linked. I do get smoother results when the variables become...

Re: I had it with MBox 3 Pro drivers. Please suggest!

If you have any sort of electricity influenced signal noises on your incoming audio to deal with, I would highly suggest going the route mentioned earlier and get the Apollo X-series. That ended a...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

The HG2 is one of the very few plugs I own that I feel fully confident enough to suggest to anyone. It would make my desert island top-x type of list.

I wish I had he time yesterday to...

Re: Drum VIs? Loops?

Out of curiousity, was there a big reason for going with BFD3 over some of the others, or just a random landing spot?

Treating like I would as if they were tracks from a real drummer is what I...

Re: Drum VIs? Loops?

Good tips - the lot!

RE #5 - Going backwards, it's typical for me to build my song's drum structure all in one sitting so that I have something to start with and print them. I'll take...

Re: Drum VIs? Loops?

Very polished, in the very least, which is not really a bad thing.

<Fast-forward 90-minutes>
For whatever reason, your comment reminded me of an option in the Bounce functionality where one can...

Drum VIs? Loops?

Is there a drum VI that's got less of a finished product sound than some of the other popular favorites? I use SD3 and have quite a few packs. It is a fine product and does have some behind the...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

I'm in the same boat. I have it, but never use it. Not sure why. It functioned. I bet there are times when I should try it and never thing about it. I used to use it once in a while after I first got...

Now that is good to know. I will try it on some acoustic guitar tracks before the weekend is out. Thanks!

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

The Niveau bit in the mpressor is quite a nice feature and will even take a heavy handed approach decently. Now that you reminded me that it is indeed a niveau inside, using it for subtle frequency...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

On the alpha, I tried some of the pre-set to add a good bit of juice to the mix. It's been a while, but a few of them gave me "how in the <heck> did they do that?" moments.

The XL_V2 took me...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

I saw the alpha, mpressor and Townhouse compressors mentioned in the last 6-8 posts. With all of these new entries lately, it becomes easy to forget the very nice set of compressors the PIA has had...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing your usage habits with this one.

I'm struggling with a mix right now that refuses to behave in both areas you mentioned.

Re: Finally Bought UAD-2 - which three plugs to choose?

I got in on this deal. I have an Octo coming with the 3-plug Custom bundle attached. I already have the API Vision, 1073 and the SSL-E strips. I do not have the 610A nor do I care to, but as they...

Re: Finally Bought UAD-2 - which three plugs to choose?

I had one of those, "how is he getting that price???" moments before I remembered they did that. I think it's pretty nifty that they do that dynamic bundle adjustments thing, too. I might have some...

Re: Finally Bought UAD-2 - which three plugs to choose?

You bought the bundle that includes the Neve, Api, SSL and 600 for free, and then the extra Custom 3-pack on top of that? If so, I'd lean heavily towards the Reverbs mention by others as 1 or 2 of...

Re: Finally Bought UAD-2 - which three plugs to choose?

The price you see on the bundle reflects discounts given due to portions of the bundle you already own. For example, the price shown for me is $449 because I own the Fairchild, and brings mine down...
