Thanks so much! I limited to 10 minutes and its now totally acceptable, guess i'm not as PT savvy as I hoped. Now I think all I have are hardware/routing issues and i'll be happy as a clam!

So i'm trying to record 2 tracks of guitar, and every time i press the play button in quick punch or just press it after the record button normally, it takes over a minute to start tracking! I tried...

As an update,

I can get audio to come back into pro tools by plugging into the line in instead of the insert. However, there is a consistent high pitched whine, which turns into a pretty wicked...
