Make sure you only have a single connection to your computer. Dup notes happen sometimes when your keyboard/controller is connected by USB and Midi at the same time.

All notes off is used when...

Same as albee here. I will result to manual editing if EA gives too many artifacts. But for smaller regions, EA works like a charm.

Only problem with input only is that if you are punching in, you won't hear the previous recording section on that track.

It's much easier to just nudge the track's region forward or backward a few samples. Otherwise use the time adjuster.

You don't assign an inst to a midi file you assign it to a track. Either an instrument track or a midi/aux/audio combination. Easier to use an instru' track. Then sit back and read the manual.

I will be watching this thread closely as this happens to me under 2 known conditions. First, when playing Kontakt samples (mostly vocals chopped accross the keyb) but only when I start playing them...

Sounds like you are getting duplicate notes. Use the remove duplicate notes from the menu, then play and see if it is corrected. This happen to me when I had my controller keyb pluged in with both...

Pre/post roll will not work if you have enabled the Dynamic Transport. Make sure you turn it off. Otherwise just place the cursor at the lead in time you want to start and it will begin recording...

I use Live sometimes as a host to sequence a Motif and other ext instruments. It does a decent job.

You do not need a seperate Midi track. Just record your midi on the inst track.

No limit other than what your cpu can handle, If you are finished with the first few tracks, you should commit them then move on to others to reduce cpu load. If the audio file is corrupted somehow,...

Some ext inst need to have the audio input set to an ext soruce. So make sure you select one instead of No Input.

The proper term is fade-in, not reverse. It work perfectly fine. Try using slip mode instead of snap to grid mode. Or make sure the grid is fine enough to fade the entire section of the region.
