Upgrade from El Cap to Sierra 10.12.2 fixed the meter lag on my Mac Book pro. Used the Avid App Manager to upgrade. PT 12.7.0.676 Works great now.

You have to register for an ID/PWD with avid first.

The only strange thing I see is what people here are referring to as "Gui Lag" (?). Slow meters and main counter. Audio and plugs are fine so far. Punch in and out are fine.

OK I know where you are now, you're going through the Apple Audio Midi set up utility.

AMS will scan for any connected devices. If it is properly connected, it will show up with it's appropriate...

A port is a physical MIDI port on a MIDI interface or a virtual MIDI port created in software.

There are separate ports for MIDI In and Out.

Physical MIDI ports connect to external MIDI...

I believe they are referring to the jacks that you plug outboard equipment into. MIDI port, Firewire port, footswitch port, optical I/O port, S/PDIF port.

It seems like a generic term...

Do what obie says and also change the I/O send of that inst track (where Boom is) to a bus of your choice. Create a new stereo audio track then set the input bus of that track to the same bus you did...
