Oh man I used to have a PPC 7100 and a Nubus AMII card and ran, IIRC Pro Tools 4 on it. The 7100 died decades ago and I gave the AMII card away to a member here on the DUC. No pictures though :(

some developers might make the plug in using a AU format and then do a poor port to AAX. Or just poor AAX encoding, taking short cuts etc. Ya never know.

there are a few apps that are RAM testers, they basically write to all the RAM over and over trying to cause an error. since your error isn't program dependent, I think it may be RAM related.

on the C/24 in the utilities menu there is a 'reset all analog paths' or similar. Try the reset.

I would go with Mountain Lion as it can access more RAM. Which Mac Pro version do you have? This all should work too BTW. I have a MP 3.1 with mountain lion and El crap on it separate HDs. Works...

the problem can be when the plug in is not reporting the correct amount of delay that it is incurring to PT. I have had issues with IK plug ins for years with parallel processing and the work around...

there is a driver you need to download for the HD Native card to work as a core audio device. its specific for the particular Mac OS you are using. I am using Sierra, HD Native on a MP 5.1 with PT...
