well, the FS56 has 8 pres... then i have:

Presonus Digimax LT into one ADAT port
UA 4-710d into the other port (four pres +4 line ins)
FMR RNP into two of the UA's line inputs (i might add...

i'm currently using the Focusrite Saffire 56 with great results... with the two ADAT inputs and SPDIF i've got 24 mic pres at my disposal... the mix control software is a little aggravating at times,...

maybe i'm confused, but it seems like all of the good stuff in the PT10 upgrade only...

so i rebooted everything and tried again. when i turn on the Saffire 56 and launch the software, the Firewire Driver=Connected.

When I launch PT9 it switches it to "In Use"

ya, i can't seem to get the saffire to send a signal to pro tools. any help would be appreciated.... and when i open an existing session in PT9, it won't playback. the playback button just does...

at first PT was launching fine but was not seeing the Saffire. I selected that as the playback device and it locked up.

Now when I launch PT I keep getting the error that it cannot initialize the...

that's good news!

i finished building my machine this weekend and have ProTools 9 installed and running with just ASIO drivers and the iLok. I didn't have a chance to install the Saffire 56...

that's a great question! it isn't on my iLok, just my plugins from the factory bundle. it uses the 002r as the "iLok". now i feel dumb for asking, but at least i feel better about getting PT9...

So I just built an Intel i7 3.2 ghz machine with 6GB of RAM and installed Windows 7 64bit.

Everything seems to be running smooth on the new machine (haven't installed Pro Tools yet).
