Just gave it quite the torture test, and i noticed dropped messages both in quickpunch and in regular record modes.

Incredibly, 9 months later, with a different computer, different keyboard controller, practically different everything, I am still having this problem.

does anyone else have any issues with this? Digi, do you have anything to add to this? It seems pretty basic of a problem to put in the 'rare' or 'fringe' category.

sounds like the disk overload thing would make sense, except for one thing. I'm using Reason pianos, which are not streamed from disk, and it's happening there too. It's definitely sustain related,...

Yep, I'm redrawing sustain too. What a crappy workaround. It's a total vibe killer when you're laying down a pno part and the notes go away randomly. Digi?

'bad connection' is a GREAT description of the problem. What's going on? This renders midi completely useless, especially when you're trying to cut a piano track. How are people getting work done?...

i've now talked to 2 other users here in nashville who have seen this problem. Is nobody on this forum using protools for midi???? I find this hard to believe.

thanks ron. went in and disable and filtered all ports and midi that weren't my controller. we'll see if that does the trick.

anyone? It's an intermittent problem, every once in a while notes just cut off. I've actually noticed it with all instruments, RTAS and other.
Not sure about external midi though. Happens...
