Looks like because I received the upgrade in December as a gift (and I don't have an original receipt), I don't get the free update to PT12HD, even though the asset is in my Avid account.

I did see that, but when I try to download it, I get this: "There are no qualifying upgrade products on this iLok account. Please try another iLok account."

This is the only reason I'm still using Adobe Audition. Just hit f9. The spectral editing lets you take out the smacks and junk pretty easily.

You don't have to overnight the ilok.
Buy a new ilok, sync it and transfer the assets you want to transfer to it.
Within 7 days remove that ilok from your account.
Then you can send it snail...

Dither should be the last thing you do in the chain... and only if you need to change bit depth downward.
What it does is fill up the LSB with data (random low-level noise) so that you get the most...

If you crash, it will have saved where you were and will ask if you want to continue when you restart...

I sold a 2009 unibody 17" 2.93 C2D with the high def matte screen for $2100.
Bought the 17" quad 2.2 with the matte screen. I work on a school campus in the research labs, so Education discount...

I installed 9HD on my Macbook Pro and was tickled pink to see it recording from the built in mic and playing back with the built in speakers.
Then I installed it on the PC at work with a MOTU...

I'm on HD Accell too and just did the upgrade.

The best part was using my Macbook Pro with only an ilok hanging off of it instead of a chassis, interface, pres and all those cables and power...
