OK so a reply to myself.

This was a very old project archived on a read-only disk. PT12 offered to copy it to a recording disk and then threw up that error message about sessions and online...

LE 8.0.5 runs on XP or Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit).

I used this on Win 7 64 bit for a while before switching to PT 9. Note that PT 8 is a 32 bit application so will limited to around 4GB RAM usage...

OK - sorry should have checked that first. In that case the regsvr32 you want to exclude from DEP is:

c:\windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe.

The one in c:\windows\system32 is actually a 64 bit...

Sorry - should also have added that you need to re-run the installation process after doing this so that regsvr32 can run correctly.

This error refers to the regsvr32.exe windows application which is used to register COM libraries. The PACE installation likely calls this to register DLLs that are part of its implementation.
