Right click on the AIFF and when it asks OPEN WITH -

Click Pro Tools

It says you can import MIDI files through XML. I do not see anywhere in Pro Tools to create an XML from their midi tracks.

Of course. I've used midi with my external recording system, and I've used it to record audio. But, I've never actually recorded a midi track ever.
