I am literally just about to buy a 15' Macbook Pro Retina display AND Mbox pro 3 with Protools 10. :D

I'm cooking up contemporary Australian folk ballads. Heavy on acoustic guitars and arguing heavily with my wife who happens to be my music partner in crime.(All part of the creative process.) So far...

Clifford - All I needed to do was reboot after trashing prefs. I didn't do that before. :o

It is happening with everything. Old and new. :(

Basically I've lost my ability to add effects, panning, etc etc full stop.

I'm now checking hardware but I doubt this is the case.

I doubt it - but I may have changed something. Yeh - it is frustrating. I can add effects alright but can't hear them while playing. Once added (like a stab in the dark) they will play back.

Unfortunately I have had no success here whatsoever. I have reverted back to logic express but this will not receive a signal from the m box either (well, a very small signal at best. Pro tools does...

I'd say that you need to upgrade your protools. A macbook Pro is an intel based mac and will not run this version of protools with 10.4 or above.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using 10.5.8

How would I stop the OS playing sounds through the Mbox? Is this just a matter of muting the output in sound prefs? :confused:
