With LAT/VERT engaged & a signal going in the key input, behaviour is not as required. .
Try it. On a stereo channel obvs . .

Seems to me there isn't really an external sidechain capability...

Yes, but that doesn't behave correctly. It seems to use the "key" input & the source material. .

I don’t use Sibelius, does it do midi tracks.
If it does, create regions, and name them.
Export midi track then import to PT.

If you've installed the HD driver with PT 2020 you should be good, but yes, maybe a firmware update. . Check in Avid Digitest in your Utils folder.

The unit will be in the machine room, so noise not a problem, but I guess the less work the fans have to do the better.
Maybe go HDX cards in 5 + 6 . ?
