matching 2 stems with slightly different bpm

is there a way to match a bpm of a drum performance to another?
for eg, i have a stereo stem of a drum track and a mp3 of exactly the same drum track.
the mp3 is slightly slower for a few reasons....

Things slowed down after re install of PT8.0.5

Did a clean install of PT 8.0.5 and the scrolling slowed right down.
also in Slip mode the grids are still present in Edit mode.
Not a big deal but the scrolling thing is a bit too slow.

Hi Craig.
The ssd is the main hd in imac used to run all you mentioned.
The ext drive is connected to 002 by fw400 then fw400 from 002 to imac.

Doing a project atm in PT 8.0.5 on a 2007 imac. im using a glyph ext hardrive, running os10.8

its all a bit weird.out of 9 songs - about 4 have slightly slower tempos than the exact same wav performance.

i went to retrack yesterday on the tape machine - basically to start again. I thought it would be easier to just play some parts again, but then the mixer shat itself....

ive found it.
so the mp3 version of a file isnt going to matter with bars n beats but a wav does.
In order for the drums to be in sync with the session the sessions tempo needs to be set...

thanks guys. I'm tracking an albumin tape then dumping into PT. Sometimes syncing is an issue and i have to sync by ear which can be hard.
