Gee it seems like such a long time ago!!

I don't believe 8.1 was supported in x64, but I think it ran it none the less. I think x64 didn't error with 6031s as much as the x86 (32bit) windows 7......

Put it this way, if you want to go to 9, you have to go to Windows 7. No other supported option.

I have found win7x64 alot more stable than XP.

Go out, buy a new HD and install win7x64 and Protoools 9 on it. Keep the XP hard drive in your drawer. You will always have a backup in that case....

You've got the workstation version of the same MB that I do (P6T Deluxe). I did have to wind my bios back one version to get around a similar problem...

I reckon you might have the TDM flex cable back to front... check it out. It has to be from Port B on the Core card (main card) to Port A on the Accel card.

I think the sweet spot is definitley 2 chips=96 voices @ 44/48k. The other options stem from legacy issues when they first came out on Macs - possibly to do with the motherboard's PCI...
