Re: Major Issue - 003+ BLA Qualification Question

If you're starting a new studio, I'd get a front end that you can connect to modern computers without 3 different adapters. I think the Clarett 8PreX would be fine for your uses. While BLA does claim...

Re: No word on 10.13.4!?!?

Works fine with me; you may find that Bluetooth becomes unusable; it's a known bug according to Apple Service. Solution is to do a SMC reset, which worked for me.

Re: Pedal to start Songs/markers for live show setup???

PT wasn't designed for live playback, so there's no way to do this. The Foot switch on the 002 only lets you do punch in and out, not start playing.

You could use MIDI listen and set it to...

Re: Best DI / Reamp solution?

The RNDI is a good DI, as are the Radial ones mentioned. I have the Radial ProRMP and it works great for reamping and is inexpensive.

You may find you don't need to re-amp everything. You may...

Re: Using a session from an older version of PT

Yep, the backwards session compatibility is great. Not being able to open SD2 files with anything newer than PT10 tripped me up. Almost done converting everything and backing it up to 2 additional...

Re: Black List Plug ins.

Black list is a good idea, but without knowing your system, RAM, etc. it's not really helpful to others.

Add your system and specs to your signature (under User CP) and then we know what you've...

Re: Using a session from an older version of PT

going through this right now, as I realized I had multiple PT sessions that had SD2 files, not WAV files. Pro Tools 10 won't install on some newer Macs, so on eBay I bought a 2006 MacMini with a...

Re: PT crashing despite having 24 GB of RAM.

First things first - what computer do you have, what OS, what version of Pro Tools, what interface, and what external audio drives? It makes it a lot easier to help diagnose your issue if we know...

Re: Optimization says disable wifi- ilok needs wifi

Hugh - it helps if we know more about your system. If you go into User CP and then Signatures at the top of the page, you can add in your Mac info and Pro Tools info. That way, you don't need to have...

Re: High Sierra

No benefits I can tell having run HS with 12.8.2 without issues. I'm busy at the moment running PT 10 on a 2006 Mac mini to save old sessions into WAV as they were still in SD2 format and unreadable,...

Re: avid gate crashing a LOT in 12.8.3

TNM -can you add your system, interface and OS specs to your signature? It makes it a lot easier to see what Mac you're on, RAM, etc. and help troubleshoot.

Re: High Sierra

The other thing is that 32-bit apps will be unsupported by High Sierra later this year. You can check to see which of your apps is affected, like Adobe Illustrator CS5. It currently works on my MBP,...

Re: High Sierra

Don't rush to upgrade to High Sierra. While PT 12.8.2 runs fine for me, there are some odd quirks like Contacts not behaving correctly, etc. You're not missing anything from Sierra to High Sierra.

Re: 12.8.3 - Incoming

I'm on the other side, and hope that Avid doesn't add support for Yosemite - that OS was released 3 years ago, and the more time Avid spends on adding code for compatibility for an OS that's 4...

Re: 12.8.3 - Incoming

PluginUpdate is a great free software tool that I wish would be taken up by someone as it's a quick way to see if your plugins are up to date.

There are numerous Avid plugins showing version...

Re: Mac High Sierra release date Monday 9/25/2017

Also, per Pro Tools Expert, if you're running Microsoft Office 2011, don't upgrade - it won't work at all in High Sierra.

No smart studio owner would upgrade until the dust settles and the...

Re: High Sierra TEST with APFS and PT 12.8

It's quite simple. If you're worried, then don't upgrade to High Sierra until Avid says Pro Tools is qualified on High Sierra with your Mac. You're not missing out on anything.

Unless you've...

Re: Early 2013 Macbook Pro PT build questions?

I have this as my main computer. 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD drive.

Running 12.8 on OS X 10.12.6 with no issues using a Eleven Rack as my audio interface running through the USB port on the right side....

Re: Budget DAW Controller with Pro Tools 12 (Command 8, Icon Qcon Pro??)

Every time I think about getting a Faderport 8, I remember how buggy my original Faderport was that I had to send back to Presonus. I'm still skittish about their quality control, even though the...

Re: Should I Stay Or Should I Go (from 12.7.1 to 12.8)?

Re: Should I Stay Or Should I Go (from 12.7.1 to 12.8)?

So I had 6101 issues with updating to 12.8, but discovered last night through he process of elimination it was several 3rd party plugins (1 purchased bundle, 1 free, 2 demo) that were installed after...

Re: Midi Latency Bugs are back in 12.8

Update:

Tried uninstalling Avid App Manager - didn't help.
Turned off WiFi - didn't help.

Then I realized I had installed several new third party plugins after upgrading to 12.8 - one suite...

Re: Buffer Error AAE-6101 during Session

I was having 6101 errors and after trying several things, moved 4 3rd party plugins to the unused folder I had recently installed. Boom, problem solved.

Re: OMG Midi Latency Bugs are back in 12.8

I do have App Manager installed, and that's how I updated 12.8 - which normally I install the disk image from my Avid account, save it on an external drive, and then update from there.

Still...

Trent - thanks for pointing this out, and had already gone through this.

I used a Mac extended keyboard and a wired mouse so haven't used Bluetooth.

I have WiFi on, but WiFi was on while using...
