Isn't that to indicate that there is a clip underneath? (So if you trim the beginning of the right clip, the clip underneath will show up:)

Not difficult at all. At least not on PT10 on Mac, which is what I have. You can select the numbers of cores for PT in prefs. Using one core less than maximum is a well known optimization thing.

Another silly suggestion; you do restart every now and then? I've seen temp files need a restart to disappear before.

These two are standard folders, been there as long as I can remember, although I can't remember ever needing them in any way, much less needing to delete...

On mac you have two folders called "Logs"; one in Drive/Library/, and one in Drive/Users/Username/Library/.
