Re: Euphonix vs Avid branded hardware in PT?

Even better! Thanks! Wish my wife had an iPad other than the unsupported 12.7 iPad Pro. :-/ Was really hoping to try Pro Tools Control out.

Re: Euphonix vs Avid branded hardware in PT?

Wonderful. Thank you, Albee.

So the biggest thing to do when buying used would be to make sure the seller is willing to transfer ownership so I can register it, correct?

Euphonix vs Avid branded hardware in PT?

I did a search for this, and surprisingly didn't find anything.

Is there any practical differences between the Euphonix hardware and Avid branded hardware? Are they treated the same by Avid, or...

MC Control Error: EUCON network serrvices could not be started

"There was a problem with the current network configuration that could not be resolved."

I'm not completely sure what to do here. I am running this on a Mac Mini with 10.7.5. I was using the...

Re: Large session will not open in MP9?

Anyone?

I'm going to go ahead and submit a case to Avid, too. :)

Re: cloud storage?

I understand this is quite old, but to add to the discussion, I'd like to share what I did. :)

Your last suggestion is precisely what a friend of mine and I did. I setup a VM for him, he mailed...

Large session will not open in MP9?

Hi all,

I just purchased and installed MP9 and it freezes every time I try to open a session. The session I'm trying to open isn't really all that large, maybe 20 or so tracks and a few busses,...

Re: Why can we not record to FAT drives any more?

Excellent. Thanks for the reply!

I still argue that most of those issues are OS related, with the only exception being error handling. However, I'm just going to have to get over it. :D Really...

Re: Why can we not record to FAT drives any more?

You must not have tried. ;) It works great. Again, FAT or FAT32 (maybe its just FAT... I can't remember) works great natively on all major OS's. This is how most thumbdrives are formatted for...

Re: Why can we not record to FAT drives any more?

That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid, and previously could before FAT32 support was eliminated. ;)

If you will read my thread, you will fully understand the problem and I'm trying to explain. ...

Re: Why can we not record to FAT drives any more?

But even then I won't be able to record to it with it being a network volume, would I?

Re: Anybody tried iSCSI over 10Gb ethernet?

I don't think ProTools supports recording to/playing from harddrives over a network, does it? At least not yet. ;)

Re: Why can we not record to FAT drives any more?

Nope... not for my recording/storage drives simply because I work a lot on PCs and MACs, and NTFS can't be written to by Macs and HFS+ can't be written to by PCs. At least not natively. ProTools LE...

Re: Favored SATA drive?

10k RPM drives will definitely do the job, but not much better than 7200RPM drives and are much, MUCH more expensive. IE, I wouldn't worry about 10k RPM drives. 7200RPM drives do great unless...

Re: Why can we not record to FAT drives any more?

Right. There are also workarounds to the 32gb limitation.

I will look into MacDrive, but I don't like the thought of relying on a "wrapper" of sorts, to handle recording info. Seems...

Re: Why can we not record to FAT drives any more?

After reviewing more, to be honest, the list of issues and comparisons between FAT32 and NTFS only have to do with the operating system as far as I could tell. Anything having to do with using them...

Re: Why can we not record to FAT drives any more?

Thank you for the reply. I stand corrected. :)

I have heard the HFS+ in Windows only works on PT LE. Is this correct? I'm running MPowered and that would knock me out of the running, needless...

Why can we not record to FAT drives any more?

To be honest, this is ridiculous. I now have to have 3 separate harddrives to replace what should be just one.

I have to have one to record with on PCs, one to record with on Macs, and one to...

Re: PT8 on Mac Mini?

I noticed that. I've been digging and digging, but I knew that I shouldn't have to if it was actually there.

Oh well... the Mac Mini as-is is not too shabby. Maybe they'll include iLife...

Re: PT8 on Mac Mini?

Sweet... thanks for the reply, masterkeith.

Hopefully, just maybe the new ones will have or will support Quad-Cores... although I'm doubting it. :) We'll see... tomorrow's the big day!

Re: PT8 on Mac Mini?

Yeah, I know. I'm praying they don't do away with the firewire ports as they did on the newer Mac Books. That was a bonehead move IMO, and needless to say would screw me over.

If they keep it,...

Thanks for the reply, bro. I'm still leaning toward the Mini for a couple of reasons, but I'm also still considering a G5, mainly for internal harddrive reasons. At the same time, I can dedicate an...
