Re: Pro Tools 2020.1

Agreed. I am not sure why they can't spend a little time on the window layout for Windows.

Re: Pro Tools 2020.1

This was a major reason I moved to PT in 2006. I could move between platforms and avoid being trapped by an eco system. Currently I am running a monster self build with an RME UFX and am content....

Trust is a helluva thing to lose from your paying customers, isn't it AVID? :D Especially when you have savvy and experienced competition, like UA with its free DAW for all new and current interface...

Re: Track Folders Are Here .. !

Re: New Pricing

What I stated, would in no way discontinue use of current licenses. Permanent licenses would become abandonware. Happens all the time, consequence free. See Adobe CS6 for more info.

Re: Pro Tools reinstatement plans axed from Jan 1st 2020

If they deleted that, they will delete mine as well in the other thread. Sign of a sinking ship and a company deep in denial.

Re: New Pricing

At least he understands Economy Of Scale. Same with leaders at profitable companies such as Waves, Adobe, Microsoft... Those are examples of companies that do not have to resort to extortion.

Re: New Pricing

At this point, it wouldn't surprise me at all for them to do something greasy-sleezy like programatically writing incompatibility directly into their product that is triggered by certain OS update....

Re: Are we not due an update??!!

HA! I guess I am at the acceptance stage of grieving for Pro Tools. This board is starting to feel more like group therapy for the abused(us paying customers). "Hi my name is 'Greg'", "Hi Greg".

Re: so happy i did not update my PT ...

I think both sets of plans are priced too high, by about 100%. Really I would be onboard with Ultimate if it was at 200.00 per year no problem even after buy-in. Avid appears to not understand the...

Re: so happy i did not update my PT ...

I have 1.5 years left on my current plan. I will probably stop paying at that time unless I see serious improvements.

Re: so happy i did not update my PT ...

Unlike AVID, Adobe has a reasonable pricing model. 10 or 15 a month for PT is doable. 30+ for software that doesn't get updated is a friggen joke. Somebody at AVID clearly doesn't understand the...

Re: Are we not due an update??!!

You didn't actually expect them to PROVIDE anything after doubling prices did you? (More than tripled after two years if you go from vanilla to sub. Yes AVID, I have a calculator and am able to...

Re: Heat + Complete Plugin Bundle for all subscribers

I get what you are saying. They are free to do whatever they want. They can stop supporting my license if they wish. It won’t be consequence free however, especially considering how many other good...

Re: Heat + Complete Plugin Bundle for all subscribers

I would be very weary of paying anything for Heat or ANY other offering from this company, the way Avid has been treating their non-subscription customers.

Re: Heat + Complete Plugin Bundle for all subscribers

Yes... use the included Avid plugins. What a great deal. This costs AVID literally nothing in physical dollars at this point to give you access to their old plugins, and to try to tempt users into...
