Re: How is 2020.11 treating you?

Thanks for the insights, folks.

Nothing sounds too surprising, then, except perhaps not installing as admin.

CCleaner ought to be interesting. I've not run it for over a year. :o

How is 2020.11 treating you?

I'm not too far behind, sometime last year, but was wondering how this new version (2020.11) is treating my fellow Windows 10 users? I'm trying to determine if this version is really good, or if...

Re: 33 day countdown! Time to stick?

I wish I could get along with Studio One. It's been 4-5 years since I've tried. Maybe longer. It just seemed unnatural for me. I took to PT like a duck takes to water.

Re: Arturia - NI - IKM

Thanks, folks. That's quite a bit of help.

I used to use Studio Drummer and the various Abbey Roads kits, but switched to Superior Drummer 2(then 3). I've been meaning to look more deeply into...

Re: Arturia - NI - IKM

Thanks for this, Stephen. Some further thoughts....

I understand most of your points. It doesn't seem like there is a one and done solution if I wanted to be selective with my sounds and tones,...

Arturia - NI - IKM

I'm trying to decide upon the main VI platform to stick with. I have 3 main VI packages, though to different levels of being up-to-date. The stock key-lab set that came with the newest Arturia mkII...

Re: suggested workflow for overdubbing in a session with latency inducing plugins

That was it. Sorry about the floating second usage part in there. My bad. I didn't realize the question was as specific as it was. :o But yes, I do new tracks and spot fixing that way when...

Re: suggested workflow for overdubbing in a session with latency inducing plugins

Mine is somewhat dated and evolved over time. I found it easiest and least confusing for me to use this less elegant solution.

Bounce my session's output track WITHOUT the instrument being...

Re: Sound Stopped on 11R

I don't keep my 11R up and running anymore, but I do recall getting into this situation in the past. I ended up having to change something like the input source clock, maybe? It was as if the control...

Re: Anyone here use Strike 2?

I always recorded straight out to audio tracks in real-time when I used that. If I changed anything at all, I re-tracked the whole thing. Phase issues galore if I didn't.

Re: iZotope Crossgrade Bonanza

Seems I am in a similar boat, though my Upgrade is less that the amount you posted. My Ozone 7 Advanced does not qualify me for the $149.

I do have a path to get an Ozone 8 Advanced for $79 and...

Re: iZotope Crossgrade Bonanza

This is pretty much the offer I've been holding out for. Having their whatever it was called bundle from 2-3 years back along with RX7 and Ozone Advanced upgrades was starting to look pretty silly...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

The UAD site doesn't mention "heritage" until the description where they say which specific one it models. https://www.uaudio.com/uad-plugins/guitar-bass/ampeg-b15n.html
It is a good one. I stopped...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

I just noticed on my UAD July Promo codes that several of the PIA products are listed as plugs not eligible list.

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

Thanks for the attacks. It's very clear to me that you do not understand straight talk as opposed to the spin talk fluff talk that folks try to use when selling something or are trying better their...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

The whole episode cannot be characterised as a simple introduction of a subscription plan. If it was, it'd be cool. Instead, it was the tactics used to do so.

The tactic used was a straight talk...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

Nice! I've not been doing this long enough to have had cool vintage gear. Cool gear, yes, but not vintage.

One bit of gear is one of those more modern Gibson LPs from 4-5 years back with the...

Re: Plugin Alliance have gone subscription

That was a predictable let-down on many levels.

#1: Deal of a Lifetime turns out to be nothing more than a subscription. Booo!!!
#2: Anyone else notice the heavy hitter prices on the new stuff...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

I saw the email on the bass amps come through.

Wern't you the one who had some bass rigs set up in 11R and shared via you site? I wonder how these compare. I could fire up the 11R. Been a while....

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

I would suggest to anyone to try the Ampeg Bass amps if the ever offer the UAD only version for non-UAD platforms. (assuming one is into their sounds, of course.) The B15N is very nice for me.

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

I just went to the site. What a let down. The excitement level he built up with lower prices thing took the air out of my sails on that one. I hope he's not going to start laying on the Guitar Fetish...
