Correct. I was asking because the Fantoms are cheaper, and they were recommended as a good cheap external drive for AVID students / professionals, according to my wife.

Well yeah but obviously not on the same computer :) That's why we're getting an external, more for her than for me. She has her own 24' iMac that's been working swell with Avid and Final Cut. A LOT...

LOL ... I did notice something weird about that phrase... You're right. Hmm DID they fire their copy editors? Or did they just leave, like so many product managers who recently quit Digidesign...

I tried it, yes. A lot lighter on the system than Amplitube 2 and even Guitar Rig 3.

The sound is very pleasant, but the best thing is playing dynamics. It's great for twang blues and reacts great...

Instead of solving the 673 Pro Tools issue reports and feature requests from the users, this is what they've been wasting their time and money trying to do? No wonder Scott Church (and others)...

I would trust the users more than Digidesign. "Digidesign approved" has little meaning nowadays.
