Re: PT9.0.6 H/W Insert Delay ADC

I'm using just plain PT.

This seems to be related to the ASIO driver. I changed from the RME ASIO driver to ASIO4All, and by tweaking the settings was able to get it down to 322 samples. I had...

PT9.0.6 H/W Insert Delay ADC

I'm having an issue with PT9.0.6 on Win7-64 and the H/W Insert Delay setting. I've calculated the round-trip delay through my H/W inserts to be 66 samples (i.e. 2 * buffer + 2), and accordingly have...

Never mind - figured out the Default Thru Instrument setting.

Re: TL Space - no impluses at all

I found the installer puts them under C:\Program Files\Common Files\Trillium Labs\Impulse Responses.

Re: Hard Drive Question

USB is worse. I think it may even be unsupported. Firewire is far preferable.

Re: Question: Regarding PT9 RAM usage on Win7 x64

Each 32-bit application has it's own memory space of up to 4GB.

Re: Need some advice before switching to PT

I've found PTMP to be more stable on Win7-64 Ultimate than it was on XP. This is largely because it significantly relieves the memory limitations on both PT and the OS.

Being able to use 4GB...

Re: Windows 7 or XP?

+1 for Win7-64. XP is pointless, IMHO. Win7 has been completely stable for me, and performs like a champ. You can strip it down to whatever you want, and you can run 4GB PT executibles on whatever...

Re: Who's Running PT LE 8.0.4 on Windows 7 so far ?

I upgraded Friday and haven't run into any issues at all with it after working with it all day yesterday. But then again, I had very few issues with 8.0.3cs2, so maybe I'm the exception.

Re: Windows 7 and M-Powered Pro Tools

I've been running PTMP 8.0.3cs3 on Win7-64 for several months now, and I have to say that more problems have been solved with that combination than were created by it. I do get occasional hangs...

Re: Please Help, Pro Tools installation on Windows 7 64 bit

I'm not sure what you mean when you say you've installed Win7 32-bit first and then 64-bit, unless you're talking about a dual boot. Do you mean that you're installing 32-bit and then doing an...

Re: Please Help, Pro Tools installation on Windows 7 64 bit

You could, if you had a copy of Win7-32. However, you'd be foregoing all of the advantages of going to Win-7 in the first place. A lot of people, including myself, are running PTMP 8 on Win7-64...

Re: buying M-powered with iLok

If you do this, have them transfer the iLok account to you as well. I don't think there's any formality about that. It's just an account with a password, and you can edit the account details such...

Re: RAM LIMITS/ Plug-In Chart??

I recommend going to Win7-64, and adding at least another 2GB more of RAM (more won't really help a lot). Under Win7-64, PT8 can run 4GB executables, and Win7-64 also "gives back" the RAM that is...

Re: PT 8.3cs2 drag & drop not working

Well, I don't know that being able to drop&drag MIDI or audio regions onto the desktop has ever been a feature of ProTools. Importation, AFAIK, has always worked (except when it didn't, but I...

Re: NEED HELP! Pro Tools Win7 64Bit

Weird. I've found PT8.0.3cs2 to be very stable on Win7-64, although I know others haven't been as lucky with it.

Take a look at this sticky, first:

Re: PT8 automatically pauses when play is pressed

When this happens, I find that resetting the playback engine usually corrects the issue. i.e. change your H/W buffer size, and then change it back again.

Re: Can you have two versions (7.4 & 8.0) of PT on the same machine

No, but you can always put another partition on and dual boot.

Re: Firewire

Spoken like a true salesman.

First of all, USB 2.0 has a bandwidth of 480Mb/s, and Firewire 400 has a bandwidth of 400Mbps. So, USB has more bandwidth than Firewire. Moreover, the 400Mb/s...

Re: A friend told me NOT to upgrde from 7,3 to 8.0

+1. Personally, I find PT8 to be a big improvement over PT7. I forget what the upgrade price was, but it was a no-brainer for me.

Aside from compatibility issues, yes, PT8 uses somewhat more...
