Re: I have masterlist, do i need toast?

Haze,

Toast Deluxe 4.0 will let you burn disc images. Exact copies of a CD (Mac Volume). Also Mp3's, back-up folders, system disc (that will start-up your MAC), etc...

Yeh! You need it.

Re: Another Digi Software Problem

Jeff,

Did you update your Apple firmware to 1.1?
You have a rev 1 which I believe is 1.0.

pros: perhaps help with your problem
cons: cannot install a G-4 upgrade card later

When your points turn into dollars...

buy DIGI stock!

Your committment to open platform is to be commended. One just has to browse the 001/PT LE threads- if you doubt it.

p.s.stockholders meetings aren't held in Annaheim are they?

Re: 001 Boot Hang at DigiSystem™ INIT

No. He seems forthright enough!

Guess we are just going to have to get one of those dual carb G-Fours. Use our G-3's for bbs!

Re: Masterlist 2.2 700Meg CD-R

Maybe I should try to find 2.1 and not upgrade if I need 70 minutes?

What's up with Guitar Center? They are selling hundreds of 001's and neither of their "biggest" stores stock Masterlist. It's...

Re: G4 SCSI Drives

Steve,
Why do some SCSI devices like the plextor 820 cause a system freeze when powered-off and others don't? Is there a setting in Smart SCSI?

Re: Pro Tools LE doesn\'t start!

Dig even deeper into that pocket Man. You need a least 128 meg. System 8.6 uses approx 41 megs, so let's see... that leaves only 23 meg (not enough) for PT5 LE.

And even less with system 9...

Re: G4 SCSI Drives

Starchy,

I'd go with the MAXTOR 27gig ATA/66- $220 at buy.com. Set the jumpers to "slave" and four screw turns later you are cooking.

Re: 001 Boot Hang at DigiSystem™ INIT

Re: new G4 or old G4?

Is that because of the 3x memory bandwidth of the G-3?

Why wait for the dual processor model...
because it seems to me that any G-4 is (soon) going to be a monster.

Thanks Tad. I found the 820x for $343 at buy.com like you suggested, however pricewatch.com was high.

Re: recommended MIDI configuration

I am using an Opcode (remember them) USB MIDI port 32 on a B+W G3. After my dual serial port Studio 3 days, it gave MIDI a new lease on life.

I think USB is the way to go. You can still get the 32...
