Thanks!

Does this physically stretch the audio longer though on the timeline? (without timestretch, so just longer pitch?)

Pitch down audio in Real Time in Protools ?

I come from Acid and Ableton Live, whereby i can pitch down audio in real time, on the arrangement view and timeline and see that it gets longer (with no algorithm selected) so its not warped or...

Re: Protools for Composing/delivering files for scoring projects

Agree here, and yes if PT is needed it would be worth it vs timestamped WAV files that potentially not work and be in the wrong place.

Can you 'rent' PT just for the month then?

As mentioned my...

Re: Protools for Composing/delivering files for scoring projects

Would there be another DAW out there that can create OMF files?

Possibly Reaper?

This way at least I guess you could create stereo cues and on import into PT the files would snap and spot to...

Re: Protools for Composing/delivering files for scoring projects

Excellent help, thank you!

Yes i have used PT in the past, so you're right i could probably get up to speed in a hour or two playing with it again.

Since then though, the versions have changed,...

Re: Protools for Composing/delivering files for scoring projects

Right, thank you for your clarification!

I am just weighing up whether to buy PT in order to whether I will need it or not.

Can you just clarify what you mean exactly by ''checkerboard stereo...

Re: Protools for Composing/delivering files for scoring projects

Thank you reichman, I think this is what I was thinking, and even though there are many competent DAW's out there (of which I use most) at the end to deliver, they are usually spotted into place...

Re: Protools for Composing/delivering files for scoring projects

Thank you for your replies.

I should clarify that I probably didn't word this very well, and that my composing DAW's would be a mixture of Ableton and Logic/Reaper to design sounds, and loops.

Protools for Composing/delivering files for scoring projects

As a newbie to using PT after a hiatus on Protools, I am just hoping this question makes sense and still as to why PT is the industry standard.

As a composer who has done a few Ads etc, on other...

Re: New to PT, use as Final Delivery still standard?

Great, but can i ask how you do this exactly and do you do it mid-way through or at the end?

Do you compose little parts in Logic at the start against picture, then record or transfer these into...

Re: Pro Tools vs Reaper

I wish that Reaper would allow to drag and highlight a time selection exactly like PT, so you can narrow down what you are editing, which seems more intuitive to me, and also the audiosuite also...

Re: Pro Tools vs Reaper

I've just joined this forum to see how protools has progressed since last using it over 10 years, ago and am thinking of going back as a "delivery software" to send to any PT editors, for TV,...

Re: New to PT, use as Final Delivery still standard?

Thanks but I probably should have explained that I’d use one daw at a time and compile sounds and fx all in pro tools as a multi track, switching between each daw.

Then at the end just...

I think I need Pro Tools for final delivery as I am doing more and more TV, and Ad work (music scoring) and PT is still a must, even though I use a...
