13.2 vs. 13.4 on 2022.10, MacBook Pro M1 16”

Title says it all. Almost. I have an M1 MacBook Pro 16” arriving in a couple days (it has 13.2 on it) and supposedly 13.4 will come out in a few days as well. I know no one can tell the future, no...

Re: Auto Spot to ORIGINAL time stamp instead of user?

SoundWorx's answer may not be completed "automatic" (not sure what we mean by "auto spot" as I'm totally new to TC here) but it does work and is relatively quick unless you have a zillion of them to...

Re: Pro Tools 12 and Apple IOS

For what it's worth, late 2013 MBP here running PT11 on Mojave seems just fine minus importing audio is drag and drop (can't use regular import menu). I haven't noticed any other issue. Not saying...

Re: Less plugins than advertised

A non-renewed perpetual license has the following 55 plugins... Not sure if it matters WHEN that perpetual license was purchased (for example, I recently had PT11 and it of course didn't have a lot...

Re: Confused about Plug-in Bundle - Please help

Just FYI, you might want to look into some other LA3A/2A/1176 options. Bomb Factory plugins were develops ~20 years ago at the dawn of plugins basically. Emulation has come a long way since then.

Re: PT12 & Duet2 Issue

Did anyone find a fix for this other than constantly changing the buffers back and forth when the system gets grumpy?

Re: Distortion Sound on Pro Tools 12?

Did anyone ever find a permanent solution to this or do we have to keep opening/closing the playback engine settings? On PT 2019.12. Is it possibly related to a certain brand of converters or.. ? ...

Re: Carbon plugins - what companies work?

I don't understand this comparison. An apollo with unknown studio/bedroom/cave(?) vs. an entire studio? Euphonix System 5?

It wasn't why I started the thread, but you're 100% correct, I'm wasting time. Thanks for pointing it out, seriously. Peace.

Re: Carbon plugins - what companies work?

Sydney's awesome - but a broadcast studio, not so much for tracking. I'm not saying Avid stuff's not clear. Part of the reason I feel UA is more suited to tracking is their development is more...

Re: Carbon plugins - what companies work?

So I guess you record in 16 bit because no listener ever expressed gratitude for 24 bit conversion? And I guess Yamaha HS8s the same as NS10s. I mean, they do look similar and the company selling...

Re: Carbon plugins - what companies work?

Hmmmm, there's a few good things in there, and a lot of utility stuff, but it's pretty skimpy on the main stays like really good compression and EQ options (not great variety of comps/EQs/tape...

Carbon plugins - what companies work?

I'm guessing this has been documented elsewhere but I don't see it in the FAQ. My understanding is limited currently on this.

1) Will ANY aax plugins work for low latency tracking? (I'm...

Any idea what happens if you install both before I realized they were redundant? PT 2019.12 here.

Re: OMF Export failure: std::exception

It's caused by trying to export an OMF from an external / attached drive (or that's one cause, at least in PT11). Copy session to desktop (or at least system drive?) then export OMF and it worked...

Re: APFS and session file backup / auto saves ???

Roger all that. Good info. I will say though I’ve had a good handful of drives die. SSDs as well. It’s rare but still an issue every few years (and I’m not even a heavy user per se).

My bad - apparently this only applies to when you click/duplicate a file anywhere in finder, not to other files... If I'm understanding this correctly. The article does say that finder will use...

Drive crashes are not my concern at all. Perhaps re-read what I wrote, or maybe I've written more clearly below.

APFS shares data between files. Every session file backup is...

APFS and session file backup / auto saves ???

Has anyone found this to be an issue yet or am I not understanding this correctly?

If in APFS common data is only stored once (to save space), then if one session file is corrupted, unless it's...

Re: Mojave 10.14.5 vs. 10.14.6 ??? And is Catalina still not working video wise?

Thanks for the feedback so far, keep it coming.

Part of what I'm asking is if 2019.5 + 10.14.5 was the "golden combo" stability wise, or if everything thereafter has been equally as solid (on...

Mojave 10.14.5 vs. 10.14.6 ??? And is Catalina still not working video wise?

The title sums it up. I'm thinking of upgrading soon to either 2019.5, 2019.12 or more likely just 2020.5 because the track folders feature sounds really useful.

I'm leaning toward 2020.5 and...
