Thanks for the answer to my question about TM. I know about CCC creating snapshots it was what happens (or doesn't) native to High Sierra as regards snapshots.

The firmware update won't interfere with being able to dual-boot. Let me understand: your machine currently is flashed to act as a 5.1 right? You do know that going to High Sierra will also change...

Dante doesn't run at full speed with a built-in Ethernet connection. Apparently they use some kind of additions to regular Ethernet networking h/w & s/w that don't run at full capable speed on garden...
